Watch this cool recap video to get all the feels from Edge Indy, Dscoop's annual flagship event that took place in March 2024 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis.

In a city known for the sport of auto racing, Edge Indy captured that energy and theme with customized learning and networking opportunities for all members of a print crew. The conference was designed to help attendees learn new strategies, discover new tools and technologies, meet new partners, and have fun together.

Meaningful Connections, Valuable Education Dscoop is the largest digital print community in the world -- 20,000 members in 92 countries -- and Edge Indy showcased powerful stories of member collaboration and advancement across borders, segments and technologies.

The Morning Show returned for its second season. The daily interview-based show was hosted by Rosemarie Breske Garvey, of Chicago-based printer Booming Color as well Conference Chair, and Chris Hyde, Marketing Director of Dscoop. Monday morning's panel on automation included Charlie Alexander of Alexander's Print Advantage, Chris Burnley of Corefact and Jonathan Beck of SmartPress. Tuesday morning's panel on digital transformation included Todd Cober of Cober, Ken Haus of LPI and Cees Schouten of Geostick.

“The Morning Show is a microcosm of the Dscoop community. It's amazing to see and hear what happens when you bring our members together to discuss how they are overcoming challenges everyday and building stronger and more efficient businesses. It's what makes this community of more 20,000 members so special," says Peter van Teeseling, Dscoop's Executive Director.

Once again this year at Edge, members came together to learn from each other’s ideas and experiences. The event featured 45+ presentations and panel discussions led by Dscoop community members as well as outside experts in sales, marketing and technology. Role-based sessions were designed for company owners/executives, production managers, IT managers, sales and marketing teams and operators.

“Dscoop is the most powerful and connected print community,” said Haim Levit, Senior Vice President & General Manager, HP Industrial Print. “We always appreciate the opportunity to listen to the needs and experiences of our customers around the world, and as the digital transformation continues, Edge Indy helped print teams prepare for what’s coming next.”

Levit and other HP leaders, including Noam Zilbershtain, Vice President & General Manager, HP Indigo, and Annette Friskopp, General Manager, HP PageWide, connected with printers aiming to advance their businesses.

HP's presses were part of a 96,000-sq.-ft. Solutions Showcase area that also included an HP PageWide booth, as well as live equipment, press and software demonstrations, and business-building insight from 70 other year-round Dscoop Partners.

Keynotes Provide Meaningful Takeaways The conference also featured two dynamic keynotes from gathering expert Priya Parker and a sit-down conversation with sports, media and business legend Alex Rodriguez.

Priya Parker, an international leader in helping create effective and meaningful meetings and gatherings, lamented at the current state of how groups and companies are meeting. She recounted how experts in their fields have successfully created transformative experiences in their interactions and meetings with others. "They started every single time with purpose," she said, "asking questions like, 'What is the need here?' and 'Why are we doing this?'" Parker led the audience through interactive exercises to help them understand how to refine how they conduct meetings to make them more effective and engaging.

Alex Rodriguez, “A-Rod,” the 14-time MLB All-Star, has continually challenged himself to become more than just a great athlete. He’s now chairman and CEO of a world-class investment firm that empowers startups, as well as an Emmy-winning TV analyst, a podcast host and a philanthropist. Rodriguez recounted highlights from his storied major league baseball career, sharing his favorite pitcher he faced when he was in a slump, and his least favorite opponent to bat against, Pedro Martinez. He also shared his approach to building his post-baseball business empire, including real estate and various company holdings. A-Rod commented on building his $5 billion dollar real-estate portfolio beginning 20 years ago with a humble duplex apartment. "We started started really really small with a big vision and a big dream. And we started one step at a time," he said.

Dscoop Announces Alpha of the Print Exchange Initiative Dscoop's van Teeseling announced the latest developments of the Dscoop Print Exchange, which was announced at last year's Edge conference. The alpha deployment includes six member companies from around the world: The Anstadt Company, Elanders, Media Pliego, Photo Create, Precision ProCo and TGI Inc.

The print-sharing system includes technology developed by DFLOW and HP. The goal of the Exchange is to allow for seamless distribution of print jobs between member companies and across geographies.

"This is a platform to enable our members to serve their customers better. It allows our members to say yes to more types of work, whether it is geographically or by output type," shared Peter van Teeseling.
