The weekend of 28th and 29th of September was special one for the members of the Dscoop from the South India. On Saturday, 28th September 55 Dscoopers met at the Saffire Hall of the Accord Metropolitan Hotel to spend the next 2 days learning, interacting and networking with their peers and rest of the community.
The Chennai meet started with welcome message by South Region Committee and India Board Member Mr Chellappan in the local language of Tamil which made most of the Tamilians feel at home, followed by Dscoop India Chair Aditya Upadhyaya’s message and a warm message by HP Country Head Appadurai to the participants who gathered from more than 20 different cities. The theme of the Chennai Meet was “Unlock your potential for Growth” which focusses on how members could increase their market share by offering diverse product list to the consumers.
The opening session was by Mr. Shaik Asharaf Salman, Programme Officer at TN Rise the State’s rural women's startup council. Salman shared interesting information on the background of the women led rural startups and how good packaging could help them get their products the much-needed attention in the retail market. The presentation opened a lot of opportunities for the audience as it was a direct invitation to collaborate with the innumerable start ups for their printing needs. The session was appreciated by one and all as it opened up doors for designing and printing newer products which could help startups to do well-a great way to begin diversification for Dscoopers beyond their current product list. The next session was by Ram Mohan Reddy, Engineer at Redington Demo Center who shared interesting and diverse applications which were possible on the HP Indigo Press. V Janakiram, General Manager, Redington shared a presentation on the possible markets which can be explored by Dscoopers which are yet unexplored and have a high demand for digital printing. He stressed on the need to go beyond photo albums and regular printing to be able to bring in higher revenues.
The session was followed by the partners pitch by Daya, Theme Coats, Polyplex, Technova, Mamata, Kromodyne and Farb Technologies. The partners were more than delighted to meet everyone in the room and exporessed the belief in the community and pledged to support the community for a mutual growth.
The last and the final session for the day was the Panel Discussion on Diversification with Aditya Upadhyaya of Super Foto DG X Press, Biju Paul of Q-Art Print Digital Offset Press, Kultar Singh, Canvera Digital Technologies P Ltd., Chellappan Palaniappan, PM Digital Products and A. Appadurai, HP India Sales Pvt. Ltd, with moderator Mr Ashok Pahwa, HP Segment Head. It was an engaging discussion where each participant shared their journey in business, from how they started to where they are now, along with the motivations and challenges they faced. Their experiences provided valuable lessons for the audience. The session was highly interactive and informative, concluding with dinner and drinks, where attendees connected, made new friends, and got to know each other better.
The next day the 29th of September being a Sunday kicked off with a very unique experiential learning session on Blue Ocean Strategy. The session was conducted by Prakash Sharma and Bhavini Pancholi of Bija Training. Dscoopers participated in the fun and learn activities highlighting the 4 Cs that help take the leap into the blue ocean. The session was highly interactive and engaging as the participants learnt about getting out of the comfort zone, getting creative, collaborating and finally being consistent with their efforts to succeed in business.
The final session of the conference was delivered by Ruchi Turakhia, Social Media Marketer on what strategies can be adopted by printers to be able to explore the B to C market. She shared in dept knowledge on the various platforms and their reach. It was interesting to know how many printers are already on social media and creating content which is widely appreciated. Ruchi gave an insight of what the new generation thinks about printing and also what are their stumbling blocks when they wish to go printing their wedding albums.
The conference would not end until Dscoopers celebrated the Milestone Achievement – Unveiling of the First Printed India Scoop ever! India Scoop is a quarterly newsletter with stories from Indian members published quarterly as an e-newsletter to all members. The Chennai Meet witnessed the unveiling of the first Printed Scoop which will from then would be printed and mailed too! All participants enthusiastically joined the unveiling, creating a memorable and golden Dscoop moment.
The Chennai Meet concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Chellappan, Biju Paul and Rashmi Sharma. Participants provided instant feedback, expressing that they thoroughly enjoyed the event and found the sessions highly engaging and informative. Several repeat attendees promised to participate in future Dscoop events, which was both encouraging and gratifying for the organizing committee and the Dscoop team. All participants were thrilled to receive their favourite trainer Prakash Sharma’s book on Leadership and a foam photo frame as a souvenier. Overall, the event ended on a high note, marking a successful and well-received gathering in Chennai.
