MARKETING MONDAYS: Is GEO is coming for you? A chat with Chris Minn.
Are you constantly hearing the terms AEO and GEO being thrown around?
Want to be part of a down-to-earth discussion about what they mean and how they are affecting how you and everyone else in the world are making buying decisions — like printing?
Then sign up for this Marketing Mondays meeting with Chris Minn of the Digital Ink. He'll walk you through what GEO is all about and how you can get started today preparing your company the change happening in customer buyer behavior.
And, as they always say (who is they!?), NO QUESTION is a stupid question. That's why Chris Hyde will be in the meeting – he is a master of stupid questions 😂!
THE SERIOUS DESCRIPTION OF THIS SESSION
For the last two decades, the rules of getting found online were pretty simple. You built a website, optimized it for Google, chased keywords and backlinks, and if you did it right, your print business showed up on page one when a buyer searched for what you offered. That playbook is being rewritten, and most print service providers haven't noticed.
The reason is a fundamental shift in how buyers search. Increasingly, they're not typing keywords into Google and scanning ten blue links. They're asking questions to AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Google's own AI Overviews, and getting a single, synthesized answer back. "Who are the best wide format printers in the Midwest?" "Which web-to-print platforms make sense for a mid-sized commercial printer?" "Recommend a packaging printer that can handle short-run digital work with fast turnaround." The AI answers directly, names names, and cites sources. If your business isn't in that answer, you were never in the running. The buyer never saw a search results page at all.
This is where Generative Engine Optimization, or GEO, comes in.
In this chat with Chris Minn of Digital Ink, we'll discuss what GEO is, how it relates to the print industry, and what you can do right now to get your company prepared.
