This session is the first of a 3-part series designed to equip company owners and sales representatives with a deep understanding of color theory and its practical applications in the print industry.

  2. Explanation of how humans communicate color: perceptually and scientifically Includes RGB, CMYK, and L*a*b* color models, and what the heck a model is 
  3. How color perception varies between these models and why it's crucial for print quality

2. Color Selling: What's Important 

  1. Importance of accurate color representation in marketing materials
  2. How color impacts brand perception and customer trust
  3. Tips for communicating the value of high-quality color management to clients.  

3. Color Analysis: How We Read Color Objective

  1. Tools and techniques for accurate color measurement and analysis
  2. Practical examples of how color analysis can resolve common print issues
  3. Color analysis and color quality

4. General Application: Color Profiles and Usage

  1. Overview of color profiles and their importance in maintaining consistency
  2. Best practices for using color management in images and PDFs
  3. Real-world applications and case studies demonstrating successful color management


About the Presenter

Jason Tempestini is Rods and Cones’ newest partner and CTO. Over decades wherever he worked, Jason brought in automation, G7 certifications on press, eco inks and FSC-certified papers, grand format and digital printing advancements, and brought prepress to current, stable standards. An expert at FileMaker Pro and web applications, he builds shop management and other data-driven applications. His decades in printing, innovative work with applications, and natural curiosity for technology will lead Rods and Cones to a next level of service.

Since 1996, Rods and Cones has provided top-quality, workflow systems and technical services for advertising and graphic agencies, photo studios, prepress services agencies, print providers, and in-house creative groups.
