Jack Glacken Reflects on the Meaning of Dscoop

Few people have witnessed Dscoop’s full journey from its birth to its global presence today. One of them is Jack Glacken, founder of TGI (Today’s Graphics, Inc.) in Philadelphia, one of Dscoop’s original leaders and the first chairman of the community.

In this conversation recorded at Edge Long Beach, Jack recalls he early days of bringing users together, and how that vision grew into a worldwide network of connection, learning and inspiration. He also spoke about the annual award named after him, presented each year to a member who embodies integrity and generosity, values that helped shape the foundation of Dscoop.

For Jack, the most powerful part of Dscoop has always been its people. “It’s fun each year seeing the winner of that award and remembering the spirit of what we created,” he said. That spirit — collaboration, openness, and doing the right thing — remains at the heart of Dscoop nearly two decades later.
