The journey from trauma to triumph is never linear, but for the Scott family, resilience, education, and awareness have been guiding forces in their fight for mental health and well-being. Through years of dedication, personal challenges, and professional growth, Amy and Brian Scott have turned adversity into advocacy, inspiring countless others to embrace the power of knowledge and community.
Brian Scott, CEO of Blooming Color, has been a steadfast supporter of his family’s mission, while Amy Scott, a veteran middle school science educator with 25 years of experience, has used her personal and professional insights to drive trauma-informed educational practices. Amy earned her Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from North Central College and later obtained a Trauma-Informed Educational Practices for Children and Adolescents Certificate.
Amy’s personal experiences led her to become a guest speaker for each new cohort in North Central College’s Trauma-Informed program and now, Amy is partnering with She*t for Brains to share their story on a larger platform. “I am excited at this opportunity to partner with She*t for Brains so that a broader audience can learn from our story and apply neuroscience to their own families and business practices,” says Amy Scott. “My hope is to provide insight into the healthy part of being vulnerable at work and sharing our stories with each other, because we all have one. We would not be where we are today if it wasn’t for the support of our family, friends, and colleagues.”
